Gummy Drop!: Case Study

Can I revive A 9 year old Facebook page?

Gummy Drop! was an interesting case. As a title approaching 9 years old (no small feat!), it had a dedicated playerbase… that hadn’t grown in a long time.

While it felt impossible, with some testing and a few practice changes, I was confident we could get things up and running.

My initial goals were to do content and timing testing. What I found should feel obvious, but came as a shock: Gummy Drop! players love Gummy Drop!. That’s what they want to see and talk about. With that in mind, I set off on crafting a campaign sure to please: a birthday month for the ages.

This was the highest performing organic post of the birthday month, netting over 1,500 engagements.

Celebrating Gummy Drop’s 9th birthday went off without a hitch. We boosted impressions by over 350%, with over 40,000 unique sessions generated through link clicks. Players were excited to engage with us, get presents, and celebrate the game they loved.

But… here comes the best part: with the revised posting schedule, updated content structures, and applied learnings, we were able to continue this boost in KPIs through the quarter following the birthday celebrations.

The Results, Quarter over QuarteR:

  • 80% average impressions increased.

  • ~120% increased engagement rate.

  • Additional 25,000 sessions generated.

  • $0 spent. No boosting.
